The
Tenerife region
 Tenerife is the largest of the Canary Islands and lies in the Atlantic
Ocean approximately 120 miles off the coast of north west Africa. Tenerife
enjoys upto 11 hours of sunshine in the summer months, which means it is
he sun lovers paradise island. The temperature in Tenerife averages 26
degrees centigrade with not much variation throughout the year, making
Tenerife the perfect getaway in the winter months from those long dark
and cold days of England.
Whilst in Tenerife you will find the volcanic landscapes quite dramatic on the
south of the island or if visiting the north of the island you will find lush
sub-tropical vegetation.
There are many activities to be enjoyed in Tenerife ranging from the most gentle
to the sportiest, including jeep safari's,camel parks,tropical gardens, the famous °Loro
Parque" parrot park, Las Aguilas which features a spectacular bird of prey
show.
A whale and dolphin trip is a must and for the sports minded tennis, squash and
horse riding. There are four golf courses including the 27 hole championship
course, and of course all year round water sports and if none of that appeals
Tenerife is the perfect place to enjoy lazy days around the pool or at the beach.
Puerto Santiago / Los Gigantes area
Puerto Santiago - is located between the resorts of los Gigantes and Playa de
la Arena. Puerto Santiago has a rugged coast line with the old harbour tucked
away in the middle,which sports a small sandy beach.
Los Gigantes - Derives it's name from the imposing cliffs "The Giants" which
dominate the resort. As well as the magnificent cliffs there is a picturesque
marina, where you can undertake activities such as Whale and Dolphin watching,
deep sea fishing and scuba diving.
Playa de la Arena - Boasts the famous large black sandy beach, which flies the
honoured "Blue Flag" for cleanliness. Lifeguards are on duty during
the daytime.
